"Feet, why do I need them if I have wings to fly?" -Frida Kahlo

LA CASA AZUL is the space designed and based on Frida Kahlo. The space is based on her obsessions, her passions and her interests.
La Casa Azul translates as "the blue house" which is the name of her home (now a museum) in Coyoacán, Mexico city.
Frida was an active communist, she loved Diego Rivera and was obsessed with the physical and emotional pain she suffered throughout her life. The structure´s overall design is curved juxtaposed with a interlaced pattern on the ground which resembles the stitch work on the tehuana garments she wore.

Instructors: Lisa Krohn/Rob Ball
